When you create a SightGrid account, we collect:

Password — stored in hashed form; we never store or access your plaintext password
Name (if provided) — for account personalization

Business Data

To provide our AI visibility monitoring service, we collect:

Business names and URLs you submit for monitoring
Industry and location information to build relevant query prompts
Competitor names you identify or that we discover during scans

AI Scan Results

When we scan AI models on your behalf, we store:

Query prompts sent to AI models (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity)
AI model responses including visibility scores, mentions, and citations
Historical scan data for trend tracking and comparison

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVC, or full billing details on our servers. We may receive and store:

Last four digits of your payment card (for display purposes)
Billing email address
Subscription status and payment history

Cookies & Usage Data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Deliver the service — run AI scans, generate visibility scores, and provide actionable insights
Manage your account — authentication, billing, and customer support
Improve our platform — analyze usage patterns to enhance features and performance
Communicate with you — send scan results, service updates, and important notices
Ensure security — detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

We share limited information with the following third-party services to operate SightGrid:

Stripe (Payment Processing)

We use Stripe to process subscription payments. When you subscribe, your payment information is sent directly to Stripe and governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy. We do not handle or store your full payment card details.

AI Model APIs

To perform visibility scans, we send queries to the APIs of OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google (Gemini), Anthropic (Claude), and Perplexity. These queries contain your business name and industry-related prompts — not your personal account information. Each provider has its own privacy and data usage policies.

Analytics

We may use analytics services to understand how our platform is used. These services may collect anonymized usage data subject to their own privacy policies.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

Account information — retained for as long as your account is active, plus 30 days after deletion
Scan results & historical data — retained for as long as your account is active to provide trend tracking
Payment records — retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations

When you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

Encryption in transit — all data transmitted via HTTPS/TLS
Encryption at rest — sensitive data is encrypted in our databases
Hashed passwords — we use bcrypt hashing; your password is never stored in plaintext
Access controls — internal access to user data is limited and logged

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
